The project has set itself the goal of promoting the agricultural and food production of Trieste that falls within the scope of the typical Mediterranean diet.
The work done over the years by the Trieste Chamber of Commerce to promote quality local products has led to the creation of promotion committees for the IGP and DOP marks (IGP: Protected Geographical Indication; DOP: Protected Denomination of Origin) and attaining certification. The foundations laid now need to be contextualised within the parameters and indicators of the Mediterranean diet and healthy and natural aspects of the products.
The project aims to promote the local production in quality catering and restaurants, especially and above all in neighbouring markets, in which the final user is above all a tourist who has been able to appreciate the quality of the products in the local production areas.
The project is financed by Unioncamere, equal distribution fund 2011-2012.
